What You'll Bring

Ability to lead and develop a Team of Indirect Tax professionals and act as an experienced resource and mentor for the Team

Ability to communicate effectively and promptly with Tax Team, taxing jurisdictions, leadership, and internal customers

Expert in time management, attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple requests and/or projects at once, and provide solutions to problems of diverse scope

Advanced experience of U.S. indirect tax compliance and governance experience (sales, use, gross receipts, and property taxes)

Expert at researching and documenting indirect tax laws and in identification of indirect tax requirements to communicate and achieve global Company compliance

Advanced experience leading complex projects

Experience with review of account reconciliation, mentoring Team in resolving reconciliation differences, and JE review/approval

Experience with identification of indirect tax opportunities/exposures and execution of remediation efforts.

Proven record of monitoring and analyzing tax law changes and establish Company readiness for such change.

M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration experience

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

10+ years of related experience

We’d Love to See:

Intermediate experience with Vertex Q, Vertex O Series, Tableau, and Alteryx (or other similar tools used for business analytics/reporting)

Advanced experience writing process documentation, the skillset to easily learn and demonstrate systems or applications

Intermediate experience with Value-Added and like kind tax

Understanding of how technology (systems and/or applications) help achieve tax requirements and provide solutions

Experience in service industry

Experience at a Big 4 firm

Masters of Taxation (MST) and/or CPA preferred

Experience in Accounting

Impact You'll Make

Reporting directly to the VP of Tax, the Senior Manager of Indirect Tax position will be responsible for the U.S. indirect tax function at TransUnion and the Center of Excellence for global indirect tax

Manage and document the global processes such as systems, procedures, reporting, account reconciliation, etc. in order to determine accuracies and opportunities for improvement

Vision leader who will collaborate cross-functionally to determine priorities and execute deliverables

Manage co-sourcing arrangements for indirect tax compliance

Embrace and drive the use of tax technology and data automation tools to improve efficiencies and accuracy

Translate tax technical items into non-technical terms to collaborate on matters with Treasury, Legal, HR, and other Finance teams

Lead indirect tax M&A efforts including tax due diligence and post-acquisition integration and planning

Responsible for managing indirect tax audits
