Job Summary
Candidate would be responsible for processing surety bonds, responding to credentialing inquiries, responding to requests for Certificates of Insurance, and responding to requests for additional information from internal partners and outside vendors. Candidate would also be responsible for working on a variety of special projects as needed with multi-tasking as necessary, creating and finalizing reports and presentations with great attention to detail, submitting expense reports and scheduling department travel and meetings.

Job Responsibilities

  • Processes accounting transactions that require a more comprehensive knowledge of the process flows in the department.
  • Helps run basic and more complex reports following standard processes. Prepares reports as required by procedures.
  • Verifies information on forms, vouchers or other accounting documents according to process guidelines. Contacts internal and external departments to obtain required information, documents, or payments.
  • Processes more complex transactions and in auditing work.
  • Follows processes and performs transactions with a high degree of accuracy. Ensures system and data accuracy.
  • Handles a large volume of basic transactions.
  • Processes more complex transactions, such as expenses, banking or other activity.
  • May assist in the preparation and processing of bank reconciliations, journal entries to modify the general ledger, and preparation of trial balances.
  • Displays knowledge of all procedures and processes to train and audit work of others. May provide work guidance to less experienced clerical staff.
  • Handles questions and inquiries. Resolves issues as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and at least 1 years of experience in clerical accounting, data forms or data entry.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with any of the following: surety bonds, certificates of insurance, casualty claims, and healthcare credentialing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Risk Management and/or Insurance.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
  • Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work with others in a fast-paced, constantly evolving enfironment with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative, use good judgement, understand deadlines and carry multiple projects through to completion with an ability to work independently under general direction, prioritze work and ask for further clarification when necessary.
