NowSecure, a rapidly-expanding technology startup based in Chicago with additional offices in Vienna, VA and Seattle, WA, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting/Finance team. We provide mobile application security solutions for enterprises operating in a variety of industries – including healthcare, financial services, and government. We are seeking a motivated person eager to get involved in a startup environment. In this unique role, you will gain complete experience in all aspects of corporate accounting and finance, to include:

• Accounts Receivable – drafting, distributing, and managing invoices & monitoring receivables
• Accounts Payable – tracking vendor bills and ensuring timely payment
• Month-end close – fixed and prepaid asset tracking, revenue recognition, credit card and bank reconciliations, and accrual calculations
• Developing and booking day-to-day journal entries in Quickbooks
• Processing payroll including calculating commissions and tracking benefits
• Compiling financial records for Board reporting and the annual financial statement audit

We are Seeking: 

A mature, driven and reliable professional with a BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related Business field. This individual at a minimum should have:

• Understanding of basic GAAP (accounting and financial concepts)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ownership of projects and produces effective output
• Attention to deal and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to learn the software utilized by the company (Quickbooks, Salesforce, Google suite, etc.)
• Professionalism and the ability to exercise good judgement

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA eligible or studying for the CPA
• At least one year of experience in related Accounting/Finance fields
• Experience with Quickbooks
