Provi is looking for a senior staff accountant to join our growing operations team! Reporting to the SVP of Operations, this person will be a small but mighty team of one.
What you’ll be doing
Financial Reporting:
Manage the monthly general ledger close and reporting process, responsible for the P&L and balance sheets with including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and cash management
Maintain system of controls over accounting transactions designed to mitigate risks and ensure the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and their compliance with GAAP
Own general accounting processes, including streamlining workflows, reviewing account reconciliations, managing accruals and accompanying schedules
AR/AP Management: including, but not limited to, invoice entry and bill creation, scheduling of vendor payments, client relationship management
Payroll Administration:
Accurate, timely and efficient processing, calculating and payment of payroll and related compensation expenses
Providing technical research, answering employee questions regarding payroll, tax and paycheck related inquiries
Tax compliance, conduct technical research, audit and quarterly reconciliations on the federal and state levels
Management Reporting & Budgeting:
Preparation of monthly financial package and assist with developing operational forecasts (annual budget, monthly rolling forecast, long-range planning)
Support ad-hoc project analysis, provide decision support, liaison with and deliver commentaries as needed to the C-suite team
What we are looking for
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
3+ years of relevant accounting experience
Knowledge of Quickbooks Online is required
Experience with running/managing payroll is required
Experience with state tax and compliance in multiple states required
Strong Excel skills
Startup experience is a plus!
Analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to evaluate current processes for improvements
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Project management skills; ability to multitask while working with multiple teams; willingness to build out new functions and processes from scratch; “roll up your sleeves” mentality
