So, what’s the role?

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance Department reporting to the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate has experience supporting a month-end close cycle and has a passion for insuretech. As Staff Accountant you will help implement financial processes to support future growth and transform current accounting operational activities.

A day in the life could include: 

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement schedules in support of month-end close 
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Prepare balance sheet and income statement variance analysis reports, explaining monthly and quarterly fluctuations
  • Document, implement and execute internal controls 
  • Support financial statement audit activities
  • Critical team member on general ledger system implementation project
  • Work on special projects, as assigned

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • 1 - 3 years of accounting experience
  • Accounting degree required 
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and Google Suite
