The Staff Account reports to the Associate Controller. They will support the Associate Controller in the financial reporting process. This person will be an individual contributor, working closely with the Associate Controller and business unit finance leads.

 

Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting and analysis for divisions using Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
  • Assist with compilation of financial statements
  • Assist Associate Controller in daily accounting activities and month-end closing procedures
  • Create and post journal entries within Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations for Balance Sheet accounts
  • Assist Associate Controller with cash management and cash receipt reconciliation 
  • Maintain supporting documentation for contracts and other agreements, including leases, insurance and notes payable
  • Provide accounts payable/accounts receivable support through vendor payment set-up, vendor payment reconciliation, and invoice discrepancy resolution 
  • Correspond with vendors and internal staff and respond to inquiries
  • Assist with yearly audit of financial statements
  • Assist the Director of Tax with ad hoc requests
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Ability to supervise workflow with focus on quality results
  • 1-3 years of experience in general ledger accounting; public accounting experience a plus
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills
