Optiver is looking for a talented Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This position will play an integral role in minimizing tax liability and reputational risk for Optiver by working closely with various in-house departments and third party tax advisors. 

What you'll do:
• Assist with all tax compliance (Federal, State and Local)
• Complete monthly book to tax reconciliation and corresponding journal entries
• Prepare quarterly tax estimates
• Assist Tax Manager to advise business units on the direct and indirect tax implications of existing and new international operations 
• Liaise with affiliates, including Amsterdam headquarters regarding global tax topics
• Monitor current and proposed US tax law changes
• Ensure new products and business transactions are handled in accordance with all tax compliance requirements, company standards and overall best practices
• Effectively communicate complex tax issues to a nontax audience
• Collaborate with various teams within the firm on a daily basis to obtain and analyze necessary tax information
• Coordinate projects with Optiver’s third party tax advisors
• Assist in completion of foreign reporting requirements
• Calculate sales and use tax payments
• Research miscellaneous tax issues

What you’ll need:
• 4-5 years of experience in related role in the financial services industry or public accounting
• Driven, highly detail-oriented and analytical personality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Excel
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Taxation/Accounting
• CPA (preferred)
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening
