Tax Staff Accountant

The Tax Staff Accountant will support all tax activities of the Company’s rapidly expanding group of companies including the preparation of state, local and international indirect tax filings, gathering information for income tax returns, and assisting the finance team in completion of financial accounting related to tax matters. The successful candidate is a strong communicator with a desire to grow along with the company. The role will work directly with the Tax Director in building processes and controls around the tax function and will also contribute to tax planning projects with third party tax advisors including the Company’s external accountants, KPMG.

Critical Job Elements/Roles

• Complete recurring state and local sales tax returns, filings, and compliance
• Prepare income tax provision and related journal entries
• Support third party providers in completion of Federal and multistate income tax filings
• Compile account reconciliations and/or supporting schedules for tax related GL accounts
• Develop Transfer Pricing documentation for intercompany transactions
• Assist with various ad hoc tax filings (business licenses, use tax, CAT, etc.)
• Help respond to correspondence/inquiries from various tax authorities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Knowledge of US federal and state tax codes and regulations.
• Prior experience with sales tax software is desirable (Avalara is a plus)
• Proficiency with tax research software such as CCH, RIA, etc.
• Familiarity with GAAP Accounting for Tax rules (ASC740)
• Great Excel skills
