We’re looking for an experienced VP of Finance to bring passion, work ethic and expertise to build best-in-class accounting and finance capabilities at a fast-growing tech startup. The right candidate will be a self-starter and able to lead all aspects of financial management, accounting, and reporting to help the business perform more efficiently and effectively. he role will start with two direct reports, one Accounting Manager and one Financial Analyst. project44 is looking for a smart individual that is looking to build upon our basic structure and move us to the next level.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead strategy and execution for all accounting, finance, and reporting activities, including:
• Month-end processes, audit, tax compliance, cash management and financial risk management
• Internal and financial controls
• Strategic planning, budgeting and planning processes, and budget reporting and management
• Manage external relationships with banks, investors, and auditors
• Review and negotiate customer and vendor contracts
• Partner with HR on employee compensation, payroll, 401K administration, and other benefits
• Lead financial communication for internal and external stakeholders
• Lead, mentor, and build/scale team to support rapid business growth
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

• 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting, including 5+ years in a leadership role
• Deep understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting; CPA preferred but not required
• Deep understanding of and experience reporting and analyzing SaaS financial metrics
• Experience preparing pitch materials and supporting due diligence to raise funds from venture capital or private equity firms
• Strong leadership skills; ability to lead a team and partner with business leadership
• Strong communication skills; ability to speak to, corporate leadership, partners, and customers
