Job Summary
Officer position responsible for providing overall management and direction to the Financial Planning and Analysis function – delivering timely financial information and unbiased analyses and insights. Includes overall leadership of planning and budget process, financial analysis, metrics and profitability reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Drives implementation of strategic and operational objectives with significant impact on the short-term success of FP&A function and moderate impact on the long-term success of the company.
- Oversees day-to-day financial and operational analysis in support of business profitability objectives.
- Manages all aspects of the financial planning process (GAAP, Stat, cost center expense), including coordinating with business unit, corporate finance leadership, CNAF Executives, and CNAF Board.
- Directs financial analysis, forecasts, projections, and other close processes associated with the monthly, quarterly, and annual CPI process.
- Provides ad hoc support associated with liaison role for business unit for customers. This may include portfolio optimization, M&A and divestitures, expense modeling, etc.
- Leads, directs, and has full management accountability for staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Typically reports to SVP and above
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Mastery of financial analysis and insurance accounting/reporting and broad understanding of the critical issues in other related areas.
- Advanced communication skills which are critical to building consensus across area of influence (external and/or internal relationships), team, and/or matrix environment.
- Strong leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to drive results by identifying and resolving significant problems within scope of responsibility.
- Senior level knowledge of the insurance industry, its products and services.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with Master’s preferred in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent.
- Typically a minimum of twelve years of related work experience, with seven years management experience.
- Applicable certifications preferred.
