The Yield Manager will be responsible for investigative insights and analysis, technical adjustments, strategic optimization and surfacing opportunities within all programmatic platforms with the goal of maximizing yield for digital ad revenue. This includes being the execution arm of the Programmatic team by identifying monetization opportunities and analyzing programmatic revenue trends across Tribune partnerships.  The role will participate in vetting potential programmatic partners and evaluating their performance during the term of the partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Works to evaluate yield of existing partnerships across the programmatic channels
  • Monitors and reports on all programmatic channels and activity
  • Recommend adjustments to ad stack based on data
  • Analyze partner implementations and performance to recommend optimal set up
  • Review Header Bidding partner performance – client side vs server side
  • Analyze Key Value targeting
  • Use marketplace insight and feedback from demand partners to identify areas for development, product needs and revenue growth
  • Create and regularly evaluate price floors and advertiser/channel management strategy.
  • Work with AdOps to perform necessary technical adjustments and testing of programmatic setup

 

  • Provide Reporting, Analysis and Recommendations to Market (on a weekly basis), Manager (ad hoc), and Director (ad hoc)
  • Standard performance reporting
  • Partner testing
  • Bid density reporting
  • Price Floors evaluation
  • Yield Test Impact and Recommendations (WOW, MOM, YOY)
  • Private Marketplace Health
  • Programmatic Ad Stack evaluation

 

  • Provide market insights and support, by assisting with Programmatic and Partner trainings
  • Source sales leads for Private Marketplace and Guaranteed deals to local markets, Manager and Director
  • Provide support for business need of new programmatic partnerships
  • Assist in the creation of PMP deals and Guaranteed orders
  • Monitor active campaigns and assist in optimization efforts
  • Manages programmatic partnership documentation, SOP and strategy communications
  • Update Programmatic Inventory Products and Packages
  • Assist Billing Department, when needed, by providing delivery reports and market revenue allocations so invoices and payments are distributed to the appropriate market.

 

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 3-4 years of work experience in an digital media environment
  • A strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially Excel
  • Past experience with Ad Manager 360 (DFP)
  • Solid understanding of digital advertising metrics and current industry trends is required
  • Experience with campaign optimization, media analytics or programmatic advertising
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Important focus on time management and organizational skills
  • Strong client service skills required
  • An ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is vital
