About the Job:
OppFi's Government Relations and Public Affairs office is a fast-paced, small and active team that plays a senior, high-profile role in the industry and company. Our team works closely with company leadership, business units, compliance and all other aspects of the company to help protect the company from legislative and regulatory risk and drive proactive messaging. Our team is heavily engaged in high-profile engagements and desires a leader that can effectively represent the company and the industry in external engagement.
What you get to do:
- Represent the company before federal and state legislative bodies.
- Work with senior consultants to plan and implement legislative strategy.
- Evaluate and respond to federal and state legislative challenges and opportunities
- Actively engage in and lead bipartisan state and federal legislative strategy and advocacy.
- Develop and execute projects in pursuit of OppFi's policy goals.
- Work closely with, develop relationships with and actively engage with bipartisan policy makers at the federal and state level
- Attend and participate in state and federal legislative hearings and briefings and relevant panels.
- Help manage and lead vendor relationships, including state and federal lobbyists and public affairs teams.
- Develop and implement public affairs and media relations engagement.
What you will bring to the team:
- Proactive self-starter with strong interpersonal communications and writing skills.
- Experience working on high-profile, fast-moving and contentious issues.
- Highly motivated, responsive, organized and detail oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Must have ability to think proactively about potential challenges and opportunities.
- 4+ years of federal, state and/or public affairs experience.
- Political campaign and/or multiple state advocacy experience is a plus.
- Knowledgeable enough about consumer finance issues to ask the right questions and know where to look for answers.
- Strong team player in a fast-paced, willing to take-on-any-role environment.
- Willingness to travel.

Total Rewards and Benefits:
The starting base salary for this position is $123,200 per year. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, and other relevant business considerations. The total compensation package includes eligibility and potential for performance-based bonuses as well as equity grants dependent upon the role and job level.
