Head of Investor Relations
Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Investor Relations is Groupon’s strategic megaphone, communicating our financial results, business strategy, and operations to the investment community. The Head of IR will serve as a key advisor to the CEO, CFO, and Board on the investor relations strategy. Through succinct company messaging, the Head of IR will ensure that Groupon’s strategy and progress are clear to the analyst and investor community. Behind the scenes, the Head of IR will conduct peer research, establish a robust investor relations process, and lead the quarterly earnings process.
Description:
Serve as a key corporate spokesperson with investors, analysts, rating agencies, and other stakeholders.
Establish process, protocols, and systems to build a best in class investor relations function.
Maintain strong company and sector expertise; Stay current on all company and related industry activity in order to be responsive to investors and to communicate effectively with management.
Conduct regular meetings with the investment community to discuss key topics; Provide feedback related to discussions with the investment community and the reaction to the company's business strategies, market developments, and external events to internal stakeholders.
Leads the use of targeting to identify good-fit institutional investors; contacts the analysts at those institutions to encourage interest and investment through conferences. presentations, and meetings.
Lead the quarterly earnings process, which includes creating all communication materials, drafting earnings releases, call scripts, accompanying presentations, as well as preparing talking points and relevant Q&A.
Develop presentations for investor, corporate communications and and other events.
Work closely with the heads of the Public Relations, FP&A, Accounting, Marketing, Sales, and Product organizations.
Prepare senior leaders internally for meetings with the investment community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economic, other quantitative field or equivalent experience
10+ years of varied financial experience specifically related to Investor Relations
Working knowledge of and high degree of interest in equity markets, securities regulations/disclosure requirements, and IR practice
Solid understanding of Groupon’s business strategy and trends in the ecommerce and tech industry
Outstanding analytical/financial and data management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite of tools
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
High energy, self-motivated, creative and organized
Attention to detail and a strong focus on teamwork
Ability to be proactive and work independently
Comfortable around senior executives
Ability to adapt to change, reprioritize, and multitask
CPA, CFA or MBA degree
Equity or capital market experience
Professional experience in an analytical/quantitative business role
