The Sr. Associate, Compensation & Benefits is responsible for participating in the development, implementation and monitoring of the company’s compensation policies, procedures, practices and programs as well as analyzing and administering benefit plans. The incumbent advises and guides the HR team in topics such as execution of compensation guidelines, position descriptions and grading, rewards programs, and other human resources programs. This role will play a key part in the development of comprehensive salary structures for the organization.
What you do at Avant
- Partners with Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers alongside the Sr. Manager, Compensation & Benefits to research and develop competitive compensation packages aligned to the market, internal equity and our compensation philosophy
- Assists with and provides coverage for compensation processes and inquiries and HRIS approvals
- Conducts the salary survey process and ensures timely completion of survey participation
- Supports the administration of the company bonus program, calculations and communications
- Participates in the mid-year and annual salary review process
- Develops and maintains a repository of detailed job descriptions
- Ensures job titles reflect correct job codes and maintains employee data integrity in the HRIS system
- Supports the day-to-day operation of benefit programs including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, HSA, disability plans, leaves of absence, and 401(k)
- Partners in development of benefits communication and education during Open Enrollment and throughout the year
- Conducts New Hire Benefits Orientation
- Lead and coordinate annual open enrollment process and new employee benefit enrollment
- Processes and reconciles benefit vendor billing invoices
- Acts as SME for HRIS system as it relates to benefits and compensation modules
- Recommends improvements and enhancements to processes and procedures
- Participates in special compensation and benefits as well as other Talent projects as needed

Why you are a fit for Avant
- 4 year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus an Associates degree in a relevant field
- 5+ years of hands on experience in compensation analysis and benefits administration
- Prior participation in salary surveys (Radford a plus)
- Previous participation in the development of pay ranges
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to compensation and benefit programs (FLSA, Sec 125, ERISA, ACA, ADA, HIPAA, etc.)
- High level proficiency with HRIS (Workday), Google Suite; highly proficient with pivot tables, v lookups, complex formulas, and managing large data sets for analytics
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Proactive and solutions oriented team player with a proven ability to collaborate with all levels of stakeholders
