Position Overview:

The Benefits Specialist role will assist in administering various employee benefits such as health, dental and life insurance. This role will also be responsible for monitoring employee benefit inquiries, maintaining employee records and other administrative duties.

 

Location: Schaumburg, IL

Reports To: Director, Compensation and Benefits

 

Responsibilities:

  • Approve benefit enrollments to ensure eligible employees obtain benefits in a timely manner
  • Administer and maintain COBRA records
  • Administer various employee benefit programs, such as group insurance, life, medical, dental, vision, accident, and disability
  • Provide answers to benefits questions and inquiries. Assist in the resolution of issues.
  • Update and maintain employee files regarding the tracking and benefit deductions, assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality
  • Assist employees in filing health, dental, life and all other related benefit claims
  • Responsible for researching and resolving issues on discrepancy queries
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Assists with new-hire orientations
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
  • Assist in the annual Open Enrollment process
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in human resources with a focus on benefits administration
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with internal and external parties
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Team Player, collaborating with others to make awesome happen
  • Self-Motivated – you like to work hard, play hard.
  • Adaptable – quick feet! You can shift priorities if needed.
  • Highly Organized – detail-oriented is your thing!
  • MS Office applications - are no sweat when it comes to your skillset

 

In response to COVID-19 & Paylocity’s commitment to keeping our employees safe, our Support Analysts are currently working remotely. Support Analysts will onboard and receive training remotely. In the future, this role will be required to work onsite, as outlined by the department, once local government orders indicate that it is possible in addition to when Paylocity determines it is safe to do so.
