Knotel’s Head of People Operations or Chief People Officer will refine and uplevel the systems that maximize productivity and outcomes for our global workforce. This is a rare opportunity to lead and expand an established, high-performing People Operations team, ensuring that it remains agile and indispensable to our success.

What You’ll Do

  • Build capacity across Knotel’s People Operations team, which includes dedicated groups in talent acquisition and internal-facing functions (e.g. total rewards, career development, goal alignment). This team is less than ten in size today and likely to grow by >50% this year
  • Partner with our talent acquisition team to refine Knotel’s approach to hiring, with an eye towards diversifying pipelines, increasing rigor of candidate assessment, and elevating our employer brand
  • Redesign core processes such as hiring, reviews, compensation, and learning with anti-bias and diversity aims
  • Collaborate with People Ops team to innovate upon our people systems - including onboarding, L&D, and diversity and inclusion initiatives - that enable professional growth and fulfillment for all employees
  • Elevate Knotel’s people analytics function and share progress and opportunities with company leadership
  • Oversee Knotel’s performance management and compensation planning processes, ensuring that each iteration is more effective than the last
  • Serve as a resource, coach, and thought partner for fellow members of Knotel’s management team
  • Set the strategy for integrating new teams in support of Knotel’s corporate development initiatives 
  • Champion Knotel’s culture by proactively addressing issues among employees with discretion, thoughtfulness, and excellent judgment

Who You Are

You are a veteran startup People Operations leader who has been part of later stage companies from 250 to 1,000 in size - ideally on a global scale - with cultural staples that are core to their identity. You recognize that excellent leadership is achieved through empowerment and delegation, and manage others by holding them accountable to ambitious goals without micromanaging. You understand that People Operations is indispensable to a company’s success and how to convey its strategic importance to others - especially when it comes to aligning distributed groups around OKRs or shared goals. You know how to be a fierce advocate for all employees, reconcile competing points of view, and go toe-to-toe with anyone in a debate, putting the company’s needs above all others.
