Position Overview

The Director of Learning and Development for Internal Training will be responsible for the strategic direction of our Learning & Development Internal Training and design of curriculum.  The Director of Learning and Development Internal Training will identify appropriate methodology to deliver tactical training, including the support of our employees training needs and targeted learning strategies to include computer based, self-study and classroom style trainings.  This director will be responsible for content design, delivery and overseeing the communications strategy for our employees and ensuring they are able to succeed in their specific role.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, facilitate and manage training and development activities for employee tools, processes, and procedures; including curriculum design, content, and implementations strategies
  • Own the training experience and understand how we can maximize learning; address the unique learning styles and needs of our clients 
  • Partner with marketing team to reinforce clear branding and voice to ensure a more integrated approach and determine key messages
  • Identify strategies to keep employees informed of current products offered
  • Drive cross-functional efforts in all aspects of employee development 
  • Develop and implement internal training structure, roles, responsibilities and metrics for successful learning outcomes
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand needs; design and develop all training plans, materials, content, and delivery methods 
  • Partners with operations and sales leaders to develop appropriate training that directly improves the client experience
  • Directs and manages the assessment of internal needs for strategic learning initiatives that align with changing products and services
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training outcomes, assess the quality of training events to improve learning activities
  • Advises leadership on complex training-related business problems and solutions across multiple business units and functional organizations
  • Considers and has experience with alternative methods to traditional instructor led training
  • Identify leadership and management development opportunities, and influence changes  in order to influence leadership and management opportunities
  • Acts as executive level liaison as it pertains to leadership training 
  • Create, review, and execute program plans, and strategy

Education and Experience

  • 7-10+ years in a senior training management role
  • Related MA degree and/or equivalent experience 
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, LMS and other learning tools
  • Experience in a software as a service model environment preferred
  • Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Advanced knowledge of training methodologies and adult learning theory 
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and blended learning techniques 
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced facilitation and presentation skills
  • Continuous process improvement methodology
  • Experience with alternative methods to traditional instructor led training
