Director, People Operations

The first-ever Head of People Operations will serve as a partner to the Head of People by leading HR compliance, administration and employee relations, while serving as the go-to People Operations expert. You will be instrumental in developing systems and processes to ensure competitive and fair compensation and benefits programs, coaching employees, facilitating conflict resolution and handling employee relations. In addition, you will also be responsible for developing and administering company policies and programs in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. As a leader on the People team, you'll be influential in developing and championing the Tegus culture.
Responsibilities
- Operationally manage key People processes that allow Tegus to achieve its strategic goals (e.g. onboarding, promotions, raises, leaves, departures, benefits enrollment).
- Oversee benefits administration, working closely with Tegus's benefits brokers and identifying new brokers as needed.
- Manage Tegus's employee engagement process, including utilizing our survey system (Lattice) to collect feedback and help managers create action plans.
- Provide coaching for managers to help achieve business goals.
- Design and implement employee recognition programs for Tegus.
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, in collaboration with General Counsel and outside attorneys as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law and recommend, develop and implement HR policies that ensure Tegus is in compliance with all laws.
- Build out People Operations function and manage current People Operations Associate.
- Supports in making progress towards achieving our company-wide DEI goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experienced People Operations leader, ideally with at 7+ years of experience in high-growth environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Strongly analytical self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Results-oriented and process-driven.
- Prior experience and success building and managing a team.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Flexible, can manage multiple projects at once and adapt quickly to change.
- Able to work successfully with a diverse group of people.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
