Job Description
Position Overview:
The Director of Talent Development will lead a team to design, develop and execute talent development programs. They will partner with the broader Human Resources (HR) organization and the business to design and implement programs and solutions aimed at the delivery of talent development, readiness and leadership development in alignment with our diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.
This leader will identify the critical leadership and professional development priorities needed for the enterprise to successfully execute its short- and long-term business plans. The incumbent aligns senior leaders to those priorities and plans through effective change management and communication. They use modern, integrated learning approaches to deliver impactful learning experiences for leadership and professional development. Assess and track progress within targeted portfolios of learners.
Lastly, this Director will build and develop a high impact team to deliver on the strategy and priorities with efficiency and high quality. They provide ongoing coaching and development to drive continual growth in capabilities on the team.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate and align enterprise wide learning strategies for leadership and professional development.
- Contribute to the design, development and implementation of talent development solutions and enterprise talent development initiatives. Consult and collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to create scalable talent solutions and/or team interventions.
- Assess learning needs throughout Discover to meet strategic initiatives. Conduct research and benchmarking to integrate innovative, modern content and methodologies for leadership development and professional development. Partner with leaders and stakeholders to execute learning strategies.
- Develop and maintain a high performing team to execute learning strategies with efficiency and high quality.
- Drive change management including assessing risks and benefits, building a strong case for change, engaging appropriate stakeholders, developing effective change management strategies, creating communication and support plans, and sustaining change.
- Remain current on broad talent, DE&I and technology trends and provide insights and recommendations on potential organizational implications
- Apply analytical skills and leverage talent data to identify gaps and drive predictive analysis of talent management and development needs across the organization, in addition to keeping an eye on continuous improvement opportunities.
- Recommend, design, and implement metrics and measurements to assess the impact of our talent management and development initiatives and better understand impact and return on investment. Lead the training operations team to support efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
- Bachelor's in Human Resources or Business
- 3+ years of people leadership experience
- 8+ years in HR, learning, business, or related
- 2+ years of experience in change management, consulting, influence
- 5+ years in program and project management
In Lieu of Education:
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in Education, Business, or related including people management
Preferred Qualifications
