The Director, Total Rewards is a position within the People function and is a role for someone who craves a global challenge balanced by the desire to be accountable for delivering against various targets and goals across multiple business units. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and ambitious individual who will help drive Total Rewards initiatives, while working under the guidance of the VP of HR.

A Day in the Life/Role Responsibilities: Assess and improve our global compensation, benefits and payroll programs to support our employees and our company growth initiatives.

  • Proactively seek out and maintain a working knowledge of legislation that may affect compensation & benefits policies/practices, reviews trends, and/or advancements in technology to develop recommendations and execute changes and improvements
  • Lead, analyze, design, and implement the organization's compensation and benefit programs including, but not limited to, health and welfare plans, retirement plans, benefit programs, local allowances, voluntary benefit programs, discount programs, salary administration, merit processes, market compensation surveys, technology platforms, etc.
  • Understand market conditions and best practices and apply to compensation and benefits philosophy, strategic plans, and organizational changes to ensure compensation and benefit policies and programs are aligned; partners with stakeholders to develop and implement creative and proactive solutions to remain compliant and competitive
  • Develop strategy and recommend approach relative to market survey administration, benefit program evaluation and ad-hoc analysis; oversee the design of benefit structures
  • Design and administer benefit plans, policies, and guidelines and oversee the benefit program renewal process
  • Lead the global payroll operations and global payroll teams to provide accurate and efficient payroll services to the global employees
  • Work closely with local payroll/HR teams to ensure payroll is processed as per the defined procedures, guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Manage the relationship with the external payroll service provider for the managed / processing services provided by the vendor
  • Measure and monitor the effectiveness of the global payroll services
  • Lead the payroll transformation activities as we look to consolidate global payroll systems, harmonize payroll processes and enhance automation
  • Participates in M&A activities reviewing Total Rewards packages and develops integration plans
  • Consults with HRBPs and managers on adjustments & promotions, particularly for senior level roles
  • Administers annual merit increase process to include training of managers on merit system
  • Works with managers and HR to build career paths for job families
  • Manages relocation packages
  • Lead a global team of compensation, benefits and payroll professionals

Role Progression:

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Complete New Hire Orientation program
  • Meet key members across the org and learn the nuts and bolts of our business, and where we’re going.
  • Familiarize yourself with our current Total Rewards practices and build relationships with your direct team.
  • Review US, UK, and Australia payroll process.
  • Audit current payroll, benefits, and compensation practices
  • Meet with external vendors and partners
  • Access ADP Workforce now and complete admin training
  • Meet with team; start 1:1s, daily stand ups, etc.

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Directly oversee global payroll (with exception to India)
  • Be co-leading the benefit and compensation project plans of newly acquired organizations
  • Make recommendations on process improvements and systems to automate and drive efficiencies
  • Assist the Chief People Officer in pulling together critical compensation and benefit reports and dashboards
  • Run point on merit training and processes
  • Provide oversight and guidance to employee to employees and teams regarding benefits and compensation practices

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Have strategic Total Rewards philosophy and programming in place across the organization
  • Recommend tools and platforms to help us scale into 2022 and beyond
  • Define the long-term strategic Total Rewards roadmap and calendar for the org
  • Oversee Total Rewards budget
  • Assist with M&A due diligence
  • Work with Finance on 2022 workforce planning and budget process

 About You:

  • You have experience as Total Rewards leader (or similar) in a SaaS technology company
  • You have experience in a high growth environment scaling from 500-2000 employees
  • You have managed a globally dispersed workforce, ideally with a matrixed structure
  • You have PE and M&A experience
  • You have both strategic and deep operational experience across HR compliance, compensation, benefits, and payroll
  • You excel in rapidly changing environments and are able to operate autonomously
  • You are data-oriented with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
  • You come with demonstrated ability to build competency and performance metrics across all functions within an organization
  • You keep yourself up to date on new local and global compliance regulations along with HR best practices
  • You are a collaborative team player with a proven ability to roll up your sleeves and get dirty
  • A strong desire to keep learning new things!
