About the HR Team

As a People Team at Trunk Club, we espouse and encourage innovation, adaptability, accountability, knowledge, and collaboration in each other and in everything we do. We encompass a dynamic group of individuals dedicated to an amazing employee experience and a deep sense of teamwork. The Sr Director, Human Resources acts as a functional leader of the team and strategic partner to the line by embedding corporate HR strategy into day-to-day work and providing professional HR guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business.

A Day in the Life

  • Contribute to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capacity related to people capabilities, behaviors, org design, and processes
  • Support and drive the HR mission and people strategy to support Company goals
  • Identify and implement new ways for HR to support the business growth and overall strategy—including enhance HR policies, procedures, systems, and objectives to increase department efficiency and operating effectiveness
  • Partner with executive leaders and driving value through HR partnerships across the organization that support efficiency, process improvements and optimizing our talent
  • Regular collaboration and alignment with Nordstrom HQ on overall talent management and people agenda
  • Strengthen the business acumen and analytical knowledge of the HR organization at all levels, increasing our capabilities to make value added recommendations and drive successful change
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and partner with Risk teams on compliance related issues, educating managers and employees on employment and wage/hour laws-both State and Federal

You own this if you have...

  • Experience in management and leadership roles with progressively larger responsibility in matrix organizations.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership
  • Strong strategic planning, consultative abilities and critical thinking skills; proven ability to think in white space.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills with executive leadership
  • Can navigate effectively at various levels of the organization and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Degree in related field preferred or demonstrated experience required, PHR or SPHR designation preferred.
  • 10-12 years in progressive HR leadership roles managing others including focused time in talent acquisition, compensation or HR operations
