In the role of Head of Talent Development, North America you will be responsible for owning the strategy and execution for leadership development, performance management, organizational planning, high potential development, as well as engagement and culture initiatives. From a talent development perspective, our mission is to make Groupon a place where employees can excel and feel proud to stay, ultimately making Groupon a great place to work. You will coach and develop a team of smart and committed team members to drive our key talent initiatives. He/she will also be a member of the Global Talent Development leadership team and partner closely with the Head of EMEA and International Talent Development to drive consistency and cohesion in our global talent processes and programs.

Leadership Development

  • Evaluate, measure, and ensure effective delivery of management, coaching, and leadership capability

  • Deliver leadership programs at senior levels including but not limited to Situational Leadership

  • Facilitate individual and team talent assessments, including 9-block reviews, and create and improve upon a variety of tools to identify and develop future leaders

  • Partner with both HR and business leaders to create methods that meet succession and development planning needs of different teams and ultimately strengthen the bench of future leaders

 

Performance Management

  • Lead change management efforts to drive a high-performing culture

  • Ensure adoption and practical use of WorkDay and other technology systems

  • Drive the transformation of Groupon’s performance management to move towards a culture of continuous feedback and coaching, using the right frameworks and tools

 

Talent Management

  • Build, maintain, and train HR to facilitate organizational planning, inclusive of individual talent profiles and individualized development planning

  • Ensure that appropriate tools such as assessments and development programs are identified and used to build executive capability

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure a seamless approach to how we attract, select, develop, and retain talent

 

Culture and Engagement

  • Launch initiatives to increase the engagement and retention of top talent

  • Promote the Groupon mission, values, and Leader Habits and advance the culture of learning and leadership by driving business ownership

  • Partner with the I&D team to develop an inclusive culture and environment through education and training

 

Leadership Skills: Along with being a knowledge expert, you will demonstrate skills in developing a comprehensive strategy, influencing senior leaders, collaborating globally, and leading a small team of authorities to deliver business impact. In addition, this leader will show the ability to adapt and flex in a fast-paced, changing environment. In sum, this leader should embody our Groupon Leader Habits and Values.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 10 years in a training/development role and 3 years of people management experience

 

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or advanced degree in Industrial/Organizational psychology

  • Experience rolling out global programs a plus

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
