HR Business Partner

Cooler Screens was founded on the core idea that consumers deserve a far better experience than what is available today in brick-and-mortar retail. We call this concept Consumer Experience (“CX”) and it guides all that we do.  We have begun the CX journey by bringing what consumers love about shopping on-line to the frozen and refrigerated food aisle.

Cooler Screens is re-imagining the business of brick-and-mortar retail for retailers and brands.  We are transforming retail cooler surfaces into IoT enabled screens that deliver new marketing opportunities and smart merchandising for the ultimate shopper experience. Cooler Screens is building the world’s first and largest in-store digital media and edge computing platform at the retail point-of-sale.

Cooler Screens is powered by proprietary innovation and a global network of industry-leading partners.  Global technology, CPG, and retail leaders have partnered with Cooler Screens to be part of this important and rapidly growing industry initiative.   We are backed and led by some of the most prominent Silicon Valley and Chicago leaders, advisers, and investors.

As a member of the People team, you'll create programs and processes around key HR-related areas – everything from onboarding to benefits, performance management to team member engagement and more. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources. You will be a trusted partner and advocate for our team members at all levels and play an important role in establishing the team member experience at Cooler Screens.

If you’re looking to get on the ground floor of the next digital revolution and Chicago tech success story – this opportunity may be for you.

Who You Are:

  • You've been an early HR/people ops team member at a quickly growing company. You've independently owned key HR programs such as benefits administration, policy building, engagement, and performance management
  • You can work independently and manage projects – requires critical thinking, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience using data to identify insights that drive action
  • Expertise in emerging HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and Performance Management software platforms appropriate for a growing company
  • You have succeeded in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs
  • You strike the right balance between building the most critical processes and not over-engineering. You know which things need structure and which ones don't
  • You're constantly thinking about new and creative ways to build culture, boost team member engagement, and retain top talent
  • You love what you do, and you're excited about having significant impact on a quickly-growing company

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in HR or related field preferred
  • 5+ years progressive experience as an HR business partner preferably with a mix of experience in fast-growing technology companies and more established organizations
  • Demonstrated record as a strategic business partner and coach to all levels of the organization in areas of talent acquisition, performance management, total rewards, learning and development, and team member engagement
  • Experience with building and driving scalable solutions that are team member focused and in line with our objectives, vision, and strategy
  • Experience documenting and executing internal HR processes all with an eye of making these processes better, scalable, and more efficient
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, proven ability to design clear processes, and a very detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem solving
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with numbers, presentations, analysis, MS Excel formulae and the Office 365 suite of applications
