The Role:

Reporting to the CEO, the Human Resources Director is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan. Specific areas of responsibility include recruiting, performance management, talent development, compensation and benefits, and HR policies and procedures. The HR Director provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and strategies to the executive management team, shareholders and the board of directors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Senior Leadership Team to accomplish the company’s organizational objectives
  • Ensure administration of company policies and procedures in compliance with all laws and regulations
  • Administer employee compensation strategy, including payroll, 401k and options management
  • Maintain and manage the HRIS system
  • Partner with insurance agency to administer & negotiate benefits plans
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, tracking, interviewing and onboarding
  • Provide guidance on all employee relations/performance management related processes and issues
  • Development of employee training programs to include compliance, interviewing, engagement, DEI, leadership and performance management
  • Promote effective employee feedback and engagement/pulse surveys
  • Develop policies and procedures appropriate for the company’s stage of development

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of HR experience encompassing employment, training, performance management, compensation, benefits, payroll, employee relations and HRIS
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR management
  • Professional certifications in the HR Management desirable (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience with human resource information systems (HRIS).  BambooHR experience a plus!
  • Proficient in use of all Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems and provide thought out recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to build positive work relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple work priorities in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills
  • High level of energy and engagement
  • Experience in a venture-backed tech start-up highly desirable
