We are in search of a qualified and resourceful HR Generalist to support our HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The HR Generalist will be an important point of contact for our employees when it comes to all Human Resources matters. Additionally, in this role the Generalist will provide day to day administration of payroll, benefits, and compensation, provide support for Everspring’s talent acquisition processes, and assist with training and development. 

This position reports to the VP of HR and is based in our headquarters located in Chicago, IL. 

 

Objectives of this Role

  • Manage payroll and related activities in conjunction with the VP of HR 
  • Lead the administration of employee benefits
  • Answer employee questions related to payroll, benefits, leave, and other HR issues
  • Act as the key in-house expert on Everspring’s HRIS tool, Paylocity
  • Own and manage HR operations; propose and implement improvements to HR processes
  • Manage employee status changes, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions and transfers, leaves of absence, etc.

Requirements

  • Be the primary contact for payroll processing, including: semi-monthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, inputting exceptions, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes
  • Liaise with benefit providers to ensure consistency between company and provider records, process changes in benefits, and address issues and exceptions as they arise. Involvement in the annual benefit renewal process.
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees covering absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, questions about Everspring policies, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Everspring’s HRIS, Paylocity and maintain strong relations with the Paylocity support team. Lead efforts to tailor the product to better serve Everspring’s needs.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding and new hire orientation, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance. Similarly, handle administrative tasks related to employee offboarding and other employee status changes such as promotions, transfers and leaves of absence. 
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to the development of HR policies
  • Facilitate company-wide meetings and corporate events and activities 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
  • 2-3 yrs. of HR experience in organizations with 100+ headcount
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of a workforce management tools
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations
  • Previous experience utilizing HRIS tool: Paylocity
