Primary Responsibilities

The KeHE Emerging Leadership Program is a six-month long program designed for college students who majored in human resources and have recently graduated college. Top candidates have demonstrated both on-campus and off-campus their high performance and leadership ability through their academics, internships, and volunteering.

 

KeHE is looking to invest in each Leadership Program Associate’s (LPA) career growth by giving them exposure to how KeHE operates from the ground up through job rotation and job shadowing portions of the Emerging Leadership Program.  Each LPA will have the opportunity to learn more of how KeHE operates starting with how KeHE onboards new clients, how KeHE’s Commercial team manages accounts, how KeHE’s operations teams fulfill orders, and more!

 

The LPA will have hands-on career development that includes completing projects to present to leadership, learning professional etiquette in the workplace, and the principals of what makes a good leader through our leadership development courses.

Essential Functions

The first 90-days of the KeHE Emerging Leadership Program provides new graduates the opportunity to rotate through KeHE’s core functional areas such as operations, eCommerce, sales, human resources, supply chain, and more to gain a better understanding of the food distribution industry. During the first 90-days, the LPA will have the opportunity to take part in weekly lunch and learns, group projects, and serving events.

 

The second 90-days are focused on the LPA's career interest through providing them exposure and career development through job shadowing. As the Human Resources LPA, the job shadowing experiencing will be an introduction on how KeHE’s Operations Human Resources department operates by giving an overview on the employee life cycle at KeHE. The Human Resources LPA will partner with the Human Resources Director/Manager in one of KeHE’s distribution centers and assist with talent acquisition efforts, new hire onboarding, training and development, compliance, and more! 

 

The LPA will take part in KeHE’s mentorship program and receive hands-on career development to help aid in finding a full-time position at KeHE after completing the 6-month Emerging Leadership Program.

 

At KeHE, we strive to ensure that the Human Resources LPA accepts a full-time position at one of KeHE’s distribution centers across the United States after completing the 6-month Emerging Leadership Program. Due to KeHE’s distribution centers being across the United States, this role will require relocation post program to a DC based on business needs at that time.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related major.
  • Willingness to relocate after completion of the Emerging Leadership Program
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in college activities or internships in Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated participation in volunteer work or charitable programs
  • Willingness to build partnerships across the organization and be a team player
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business acumen and professionalism
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in college activities or internships
  • Demonstrated participation in volunteer work or charitable programs
