SUMMARY:

We are a business-to business, cloud based financial technology and loan servicing platform specialized in wealth management lending. Our platform connects loan origination, loan servicing, risk monitoring, payment processing and loan accounting systems. Data from these connections is grouped into portals for banks, wealth management firms, their advisors and their clients. Our flagship clients include some of the largest financial institutions in the world.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Human Resources Manager is our first dedicated hire in this space. We anticipate that you will help us increase our United States operations by 2x over the next 12 – 24 months, approximately 30 new hires. You will serve as a key liaison to the management team and board in executing our operating plan. You will be responsible for maintaining the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating team member relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement robust recruiting, interviewing and hiring processes
  • Spend time training Supervisors and ensure they allocate the time and have the incentives to always be communicating with subordinates about performance and growth
  • Ensure compliance with training, policies and procedures
  • Build an agenda that prioritizes the wellbeing of the team and company culture
  • Be in-the-know on individual team member performance
  • Ensure ongoing performance feedback and skills assessment instead of less effective quarterly performance evaluations
  • Build flexible framework for career advancement that accommodates both team member interests and changing business demands
  • Be able to attribute Company financial gains to specific HR policies.
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Maintain organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions;
  • recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Maintain employee benefit programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Efficient, organized and follows through on commitments. You’re intelligent, have great analytical skills and pay attention to detail. In addition, you’re calm under pressure, have a great work ethic and communicate well.

Location

Our office is located in the Accenture Tower, which is the same building as Ogilvie Train Station and across the street from Union station. Our building offers a long list of amenities, such as a free gym and tenant lounge, and is surrounded by great restaurants and transportation hubs.

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Our vibe is really fun and energetic! It is an open spaced loft in River North. Nobody has an office and even the CEO and CTO sit in rows of desks with all of the other employees. People are always working together. We have a fridge and pantry stocked with snacks, a pool table and casual dress.

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Supernova enables wealth management firms to offer securities-based loans, an attractive liquidity solution, to their clients. Historically, setting up SBLs was very cumbersome. Our solution not only supports competitive borrowing rates, but is also easy to use and includes robust collateral management and risk monitoring capabilities.

When we started Supernova, we wanted to create a culture of open communication and collaboration to share ideas and best practices. No one has an office. I sit with the rest of the team and purposely keep my calendar as clear as possible so I can participate and be involved in organic discussions that are often my favorite part of the day.

What projects are you most excited about?

I'm excited about being able to calculate the probability of call in our collateral management system; which combines advanced statistical analysis and financial knowledge to predict the performance of all the holdings in the collateral accounts.
