The Leave of Absence Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day tasks that are required to manage the Leave of Absence and Workers Comp process for eligible Home Chef Employees. The work will be remote to start but then required to be in Chicago office in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Create FMLA Certification and Notice of Rights notices to send to employees that request a Leave of Absence
- Update each FMLA tracker per employee according to their location on a weekly basis
- Respond to Leave related questions that are emailed from employees
- Send follow up emails to employees to track down leave paperwork in order to approve the leave in a timely manner
- Save returned (confidential) FMLA and Short Term Disability forms to Dynafile
- Send return to work notices either through mail or email to employees that are expected to return to work from a leave
- Update employee’s leave status in ADP WFN - either putting employees on leave or returning them from leave
- Communicate Leave details to the local HRMs or the Corporate HR Manager as needed
- Conduct Leave audits and perform other Leave related projects as assigned
- Communicate with Broker, Midwest HR, to get updates on employee’s claims, both old and new
- Communicate with Plant Safety Managers to receive updates on employee’s work status in order to place the employee on Leave in ADP WFN
- Request monthly audit reports from the old Workers Compensation vendor in order to continue in the progress to get hold claims closed out
- Work with HRMs to communicate if an employee requires a workplace accommodation and determine if the department is able to accommodate the employee.
- Conduct audits and perform other WC claim related projects as assigned

- Some basic knowledge of leave requirements under FMLA, ADA and other applicable laws
- Computer skills - Email and Excel
- 3-5 Years of Leave Administration Experience
- Written and Verbal communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience with California Leave a huge plus as well as Worker's Comp!
