Mac & Mia is a children’s retail startup in Chicago.  With goals to rapidly grow our sales team over the next year, our recruiter will be instrumental to our continued success. This person will spearhead our growth efforts through their ability to identify and attract top talent in Chicago, as well as a number of remote cities located across the U.S., generate excitement about the sales opportunity at Mac & Mia and foster cross functional relationships throughout the organization.

What we do

Mac & Mia was founded by Marie Tillman. After the birth of her son, and as a working mom, she was struggling to find beautiful, high-quality kids clothing options without spending a ton of time shopping. Mac & Mia was created as Marie began to discover and curate unique kids’ styles from boutique brands around the world. Today, Mac & Mia saves busy parents time while delivering a fun and convenient shopping experience for families.

Mac & Mia customers take a brief style quiz before requesting a box for their child. They are then paired with a stylist who handpicks 6-8 items for the child. The items are shipped and the customer can keep what they love and send back the rest. Mac & Mia currently serves children from ages newborn to 6 years old.

About this role

Our team at Mac & Mia is our competitive advantage - it is our Stylists that represent the heart and soul of the company as they seek to establish a personal connection and genuine relationship with each of our valued customers. As a recruiter, you will help us grow our inside and outside sales teams and scale our business into the number one online retailer in the kids space. Our recruiter will build a pipeline of sales people by both screening inbound candidates & sourcing candidates proactively. You will be responsible for conducting interviews, sharing our vision, and getting people excited about what we are building. This person will contribute to our sales culture by identifying candidates with passion, energy, and intelligence. As an integral part of the team, you will play a direct role in the success of our business and be a part of our dynamic, collaborative & fun culture.

Qualifications

  • A combination of agency side experience and corporate recruiting is a plus
  • A familiarity with other functional recruiting (marketing, technology, operations, etc.) is a plus
  • Ability to phone screen dozens of inbound candidates each week for the outside sales role
  • Coordinate end to end interview process with remote candidates across four times zones
  • A desire to source sales candidates organically
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a high pressure, start-up environment
  • Should have an understanding of the competitive landscape in the kids space
  • Must be able to partner with sales leadership on post-interview debriefs
  • Ability to manage recruiting resources, such as job boards
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must be organized and pay attention to detail
  • Must have a track record of success recruiting in a sales-driven organization
