  • Familiarize yourself with Sprout’s existing learning & development programs and initiatives.
  • Establish regular 1:1 cadence with your direct report.

Within 3 months, you will…

  • Develop and present a strategic plan for elevating and scaling Sprout’s learning and development initiatives across the organization and within teams, informed by DEI and OD best practices.
  • Create and facilitate best-in-class training curriculum across Sprout.
  • Identify and implement key metrics for measuring success of L&D programs.
  • Partner with Internal Communications team to develop an effective and engaging communication strategy to drive involvement with learning programs.

Within 6 months, you will…

  • Present the strategic plan on the future of learning & development at Sprout to Sprout employees at company-wide All Hands meeting.
  • Implement the initial stages of your strategic plan for learning & development at Sprout.
  • Design and execute high-impact and scalable learning experiences, both iterating on current initiatives in place and creating new initiatives.

Within 12 months, you will…

  • Establish learning and development programs at the org and team level, iterating on programs as needed, and continuing to embed Sprout’s “Always Be Growing” culture.
  • Create clear linkages between our learning and development programs and team career bands.
  • Partner with the broader Organizational Development team on developing initiatives particularly where there is a strong learning component.
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change Sprout in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet.

Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

When I first joined Sprout, I could count the entire Sales team on one hand. Since then, my career has taken a variety of paths, from training and enablement to assisting our Sales team from a strategic perspective as a Solutions Engineer. Thanks to a workplace environment that fosters growth, I’ve been able to advance my career at Sprout.

Jordan Balkin

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

Instead of turning down ideas that seem unattainable, we encourage our teams to think through how we can solve challenges in unique ways. By testing and experimenting, we create an environment that fosters innovation and promotes creative thinking.

Jamie Gilpin

What's something quirky about your company?

At the conclusion of our company wide Kickoff party, tubs of McDonalds cheeseburgers mysteriously appear and rain down on us like a blizzard in the Chicago winter. But a good blizzard.
