Centro is headquartered in Chicago, with beautiful offices also in Toronto, Dallas, Denver, and New York to name a few. Post-COVID, many of us will be returning to one of our offices (by choice, not requirement -- we believe results matter more than where they are produced). All of our employees have the flexibility to work in one of our office locations, completely remote, or a hybrid of the two. Please note, we are hiring on a remote working basis only in the U.S. and Canada.

ABOUT THE TEAM
 
Centro's Talent and Development (T&D) team works to make our organization an engaging, inclusive home for Centrons to develop their careers and create positive change in the ad tech industry. T&D is made up of four collaborative teams: Talent Acquisition (recruits top talent for Centro), Talent Operations (provides benefits, payroll, perks, and a system support for Centro), Education and Development (leads training and education for Centro employees), and Talent Partners (heads up professional development, management resources, and employee relations).
 
Collectively, T&D is determined to bring the Centro Manifesto and guiding principles to life through our culture and practices. This team cultivates Raving Fans by constantly ideating on how to ensure every current and prospective employee receives the best experience possible.
 
WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
 
This role supports leaders and employees across the Technology organization, through both coaching and consulting. You will help to strategize all ideas related to people. You will contribute by:

  • Providing high-touch, frontline support to leaders and employees, acting as a one-stop contact for all strategies related to people in your assigned functional teams, overseeing both big ideas and tiny tasks.
  • Coaching leaders and employees, supporting them on growth and development.
  • Utilizing best practices and sound judgment to help leaders make difficult decisions.
  • Consulting with leaders to help them navigate through employee issues so they understand the different risks and benefits of different scenarios to make the best decision possible for the organization.
  • Working with leaders to scope and execute great people projects (e.g., leader/employee development, compensation and career growth quarterly reviews, retention action plans.).
  • Partnering with our Talent Operations Analyst to use data and metrics to drive our people strategy and provide insights to your business teams.
  • Designing, delivering, and implementing presentations and trainings that provide employees with actionable leadership and career development skills.
  • Maintaining a great working environment and culture for the business unit to help ensure we are living in alignment with Centro’s mission, values and core principles.
  • Managing a team of Talent Partners and Talent Coordinators, ensuring they are partnering with you to service the business accurately with raving fan service

BONUS POINTS

  • Knowledgeable and experienced. You have a BA/BS degree, and preferably a Master’s relevant to this role. You have 5+ years experience in human resources, consulting or related field and 1+ year managing a team. You hold discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information. You are comfortable learning the tools of the trade (Workday).
  • Project management skills and implementation experience preferred
  • Quirky and quirky. Willing to laugh at our jokes and perform karaoke when the time calls for it.
  • Passion for HR - enjoys coaching and developing people’s careers
  • PHR/SPHR Certification, preferred.

Instead of balancing work and life, it’s about blending the two. As a parent, I may need to leave for part of the day or before 5. Everyone here understands and I don’t feel guilty. How do you empower your team to be more creative?

There’s an incredible balance of freedom, drive, and fun that I’ve only experienced at Centro. On an engineering team retreat this summer, the plan was to code from 10 AM – 2 PM on a fun team-based competition and then go outside to enjoy the day. The team would not stop coding until 10 PM! Of course, this was followed by 6 hours of karaoke.
