Our talent team is growing and we're looking for a Payroll Administrator. The ideal candidate is a motivated, self-starter with a passion to make Amount a great place to work. This role will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations, state, and local ordinances. In addition, the role will require support with other ad hoc projects in the benefits and total rewards space.

What you'll work on

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Set-up new payroll processing for new states where new hires are employed
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
  • Manage changes to the HRIS system, including manager and organization changes
  • Maintain regular audits of our employee record retention practices and make necessary updates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Minimum of three years of payroll experience ; extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Prior experience working in a mid to large size company
