Making a Difference
The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will administer the payroll function and benefit activities ensuring pay and benefit enrollments, changes and terminations are processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations and benefit plan provisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers all payroll processing and payroll tax filings.
- Prepares time and attendance records for import into payroll software.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Presents a balanced payroll for review for each payroll processing cycle.
- Recommends process enhancements to ensure most efficient processing methods are used.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates payroll and benefit audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Reconciles monthly benefit invoices.
- Collaborates with Finance Team to ensure all general ledger account balances are accurate.
- Ensures benefit carrier connection files are maintained and information is flowing to benefit carriers accurately.
- Updates monthly benefit rates during each open enrollment period to ensure employee contributions are accurate.
- Processes 401(k) and Health Savings Account contribution files.
- Oversees third party UK payroll and benefit administration.
- Maintains time off accruals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources or a related field
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills
