At Sprout Social, people and culture are at the forefront of everything we do - a fact underscored by multiple Best Places to Work awards and a 4.8 rating on Glassdoor. As members of the Sprout People team, we are champions of Sprout’s unique culture. Doing our jobs effectively means every candidate has an incredible experience with Sprout Social, every team member is successful from day one, and every business unit has the talent and support needed to meet and exceed aggressive goals.

As a Recruitment Manager who will support a diversity of functions throughout Sales, Marketing, and Operations, you’ll play a leading role in bringing outstanding team members to Sprout. Since this role will be responsible for accelerating the growth and development of several Recruitment Partners on our team, we are looking for a leader with a minimum of 7 years’ experience with increasing levels of scope and responsibility in talent acquisition or related HR functions and at least 2 years of proven success in people management, a team lead, or indirect leadership role.

An essential component of this position will be building strong relationships with key stakeholders: ranging from front-line managers to members of our Executive team. Ultimately, you will ensure the achievement of ambitious hiring goals for the functions you support, through managing some roles as an individual contributor, coaching our Recruitment Partners to achieve their individual goals, and building strategies that streamline, improve, and revolutionize the way we hire. In the player-coach role, you will work alongside your direct reports while also carving out time to help direct and support their professional development. While you should be excited to source and close candidates, we want you to be equally excited about the trajectory of your team and your part in forming them as stellar recruiters.

Within 1 month, you will...

  • Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program alongside other Sprout team members. You’ll gain a broader understanding of our product and how you fit in the organization
  • Partner with our Director of Recruitment and other Recruitment Managers to review the current hiring plan, evaluate future needs, and understand the key success metrics and initiatives for our team and how you will be measured against them.
  • Conduct initial 1:1s with direct reports and peers on the Recruitment Team, People Business Partners, stakeholders and other strategic partners to identify what a successful Recruitment Manager relationship looks like and how you will work together.
  • Understand as much as you can about our company, products, teams, and projects to creatively support our award winning culture.
  • Learn our Recruitment processes, tools, systems, and workflows through hands on training and by taking on your first few searches. Help us find ways we can optimize our processes at every step. Don’t be afraid to give us feedback - we welcome it!

Within 3 months, you will...

  • In partnership with Recruitment Partners, build relationships with stakeholders to deeply understand the unique challenges of each function and department you support.
  • Dive into the data, becoming a subject matter expert in our Recruitment tools. Utilize existing reports and systems to understand historical performance and further build out dashboards and reporting mechanisms to measure and proactive communicate out the progress against hiring goals, existing initiatives, and future proposals.
  • In partnership with our Recruiting Operations team, audit current processes and workflows to further establish consistent best practices or make data-driven recommendations on how to accelerate hiring, scale processes, and improve the candidate, hiring manager, recruiter, and employee experience.
  • Using data, fully own the data integrity, capacity planning, and Executive stakeholder communications for the functions your team supports. Independently identify ways to address hiring challenges and optimize resource alignment while providing space and opportunity for our Recruitment Partners to grow their skills and maximize their impact.
  • Conduct career development conversations with direct reports to identify opportunities for continued learning both at the individual recruiter and recruiting team level. Proactively performance manage as needed.

Within 6 months, you will...

  • Have built a high level of credibility with direct reports through coaching, feedback, recognition, and career development conversations. Actively serve as a thought partner to peers and the Director of Recruitment to further develop and shape Career Bands, Career Paths, and Performance evaluation criteria for the Recruitment Team.
  • Be seen as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders and the departments you support through your own successful placements and the collective successes of your team. As needed, influence systemic change through the presentation of well-developed and structured proposals to the appropriate audiences. Hold stakeholders and hiring teams accountable through robust communication and effective change management.
  • Champion our values by continuously building a diverse pipeline of critical passive talent for Sprout, specifically leadership talent from underrepresented groups. Ensure our DEI initiatives are reflected in all aspects of our recruitment process.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of our global Recruitment strategy and overall People team strategy by establishing relationships across Sprout’s distributed workforce.
  • Embody and add to our Recruitment team culture by contributing to the engagement and growth of the broader Recruitment Team. Provide ongoing support, training, and mentorship to more junior or newer members.

Within 12 months, you will...

  • Be completely settled in as a critical leader on the Recruitment Team as well as the People Team as a whole, with a deep understanding of the team and company’s needs.
  • Play a key role in our Recruitment team annual strategic planning process, including global headcount planning, tool analysis, and budget review.
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change the People Team in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet.

Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.
