Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, update and implement Residential specific training on SMS Assist systems, processes, procedures and initiatives under the direction of the Residential Training Team Lead
  • Serve as a bench facilitator for the Residential Training Team Lead for all department specific trainings
  • Maintain and/or create departmental specific presentations and training resources
  • Manage and maintain all Residential content on the SMS HUB, including training resources, processes, course calendar, etc.
  • Assign/implement/manage New Hire shadow trainings and logistics with respective ops teams
  • Maintain shadow training checklists for Residential Department and provide coaching to shadow trainers
  • Manage all temporary employee activities to include facilitating training, scheduling shadow sessions, and eliciting feedback
  • Conduct ‘train the trainer’ sessions for all current and potential Residential Shadow Trainers
  • Attend and/or host department weekly/monthly meetings at all levels (AD, TL, OS) to maintain departmental process consistency
  • Facilitate system update sessions as applicable platform changes become available
  • Partner with Residential leadership team to develop, maintain and implement specific development programs (i.e Coaching program)
  • Supervise all facets of department temporary employee onboarding process, including but not limited to team communication, facilitation and shadow training
  • Assist Residential Training Team Lead with implementation, maintenance and calibration processes of the Team Lead ‘Buddy’ program
  • Track attendance, survey results and employee feedback for departmental training sessions
  • Create training metrics that validate program effectiveness
  • Assist SMSU, Talent Development team and Residential leadership with implementation of 30/60/90 onboarding programs
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of Residential Department training needs and of the internal Residential training resources and sessions for effectiveness
  • Partner with Residential Department to determine new systems, and/or processes that require training
  • Conduct 30-day check points with New Hires to assess effectiveness of the onboarding/training process
  • Develop innovative and effective training tools and methods
  • Schedule and/or conduct any necessary internal training webinars for all remote employees
  • Setting up and introducing training sessions, as necessary
  • Working with other members of the Human Resources team to continuously improve and streamline the Training Department
  • Support the training team in overall department goals

 

Key Competencies

  • Confidence and ability to communicate effectively to small and large groups
  • Independent and self-driven
  • 1-2 years training/facilitation experience
  • Exemplary communication skills both written and verbal, able to confidently communicate to all levels of an organization
  • Strong, professional public speaking skills
  • Ability to create and conduct webinars
  • Ability to create training resources
  • Innovative approach to training and ability to come up with creative methods for knowledge transfer
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and training techniques is a plus++
  • Ability to develop relationships with key Business Partners and Stakeholders
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1-year experience within an operations department
  • Requires the ability to operate independently and communicate effectively with technical staff, peers, and management
  • Must have good analytical, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Job Classification

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position
  • This is a standard shift position
  • The Residential Training Coordinator is a function of Human Resources
