Job Description
The RMHC Learning and Development Manager will play a vital role within the RMHC Global Team by leading the RMHC system learning and development strategy. RMHC equips the board and staff of local Chapters with the skill and knowledge needed to grow professionally while fostering a culture of organizational excellence and compassionate hospitality. Through relevant and accessible educational opportunities, we seek to Develop Leaders – Showcase Success and Inspire Innovation – Promote Teamwork and Instill Empathy.
The RMHC Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for assessing the learning needs, and designing and delivering learning opportunities for the network of local Chapters operating in 65 countries and regions. This position will manage and professionally develop a Learning and Development Supervisor and Special Projects Specialist.
Process Management
- Facilitate ideation and gather input from RMHC Global, Global Advisory Council and RMHC Learning Partners to conduct needs analyses, define requirements, articulate end goals, measurements and methodology.
- Design a RMHC Learning and Development program that increases reach and system alignment, impact and future capability requirements, and further establishes a global learning culture.
- Develop and manage the calendar of RMHC Learning Opportunities: in-person classroom, virtual classroom, on demand and social learning.
- Lead completion of the design and ongoing implementation of RMHC-U, the global learning management system, offering on-demand modules and virtual classroom sessions. Design learning pathways for various Chapter role types throughout the global system.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the development and execution of RMHC International Conferences (every 4 years) and RMHC Regional Conferences (every 4 years, alternating biennially with International Conference). Lead the conference-planning teams and strategically construct curricula and conference activities. Provide on-site support to conference faculty and work closely with meeting planning staff to ensure optimal learning environment.
- Define and lead the learning journey and cohort engagement for RMHC Leadership programs.
- Objectively seek to improve learning solutions design and execution: share leading practices and lessons learned. Research, secure and orient RMHC learning partners and faculty.
- Engage with Global team members, learners and key stakeholders to test and validate content instructional design methodologies.
- Use evaluation results to improve learning design and execution. Evaluate existing programs for impact and alignment with needs.
- Work in partnership with the CFOO to develop annual learning and development budget, track expenses and ensure budget alignment with activities.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
- Minimum of five years of work experience designing learning solutions and curricula plans. Experience working with non-profit organizations preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to apply talent development principles and practices globally, across cultures and borders, to enhance learning and performance.
- Previous experience managing a high performance team.
- Ability to align the learning strategy to the Charity’s long-term goals.
- A proactive, ready learner with ability to not only track change, but also anticipate it.
- Experience with SABA Learning Management System
- Experience with LinkedIn Learning, desired
- Knowledge of technical eLearning authoring tools, such as Articulate and eLearning Brothers.

- Capable with public speaking and meeting facilitation.
