The Senior Analyst, Total Rewards - Payroll/Compensation will support the HR organization by owning the domestic and global payroll practices and procedures, assisting the Compensation Lead with Job Analysis and End of Year process, enable the gathering of HR data for use in effective decision making, as well as support the HR function through ad hoc projects and requests.

Role Responsibility

  • Payroll and Tax
  • Own, audit, and process domestic and global payroll on a bi-weekly and monthly schedule, and off-cycle payments ensuring proper earnings and deductions
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for payroll process and HR practices
  • Apply for tax withholding and unemployment in accordance with business needs
  • Maintain accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of all payroll data
  • Strong relationship with Finance regarding payroll matters
  • Compliance and Reporting
  • Lead year end payroll and compliance process, including the processing of W-2 data
  • Research and comply with all international, federal, state and local laws for payroll
  • Complete annual Affirmative Action data collection and reporting, and assist with reporting for other HR Analytic related projects and requests
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures
  • Complete compensation surveys
  • Vendor Management
  • Establish and manage relationships with payroll vendors to ensure excellent performance, utilization of technology, and streamlined processes
  • Compensation Management
  • Support day to day compensation administration as necessary: Conduct job evaluations for new and existing positions to ensure appropriate grading; create and run compensation reports for analysis; provide ad hoc reporting to HR and business leaders as requested, manipulating data and providing insight.
  • Support the Compensation Lead for EOY compensation process with analysis, process & system and communication of bonus payouts and pay increases including merit, market, and promotions.
  • Customer Service and Communications
  • Thoroughly research and respond to escalated issues, questions, and requests related to payroll and compensation
  • Total Rewards and Development
  • Assist team members with compensation and benefits ad hoc projects as necessary through cross training
  • Analyze HR ticket trends and drive down ticket volume with process improvement based on data
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies
  • Lead and complete ad hoc projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional
  • High touch and strong customer service skills
  • Organized, motivated, and process-driven 
  • Working knowledge of federal and state benefit regulations and legislation (e.g. IRS, ERISA, DOL)

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of direct experience in payroll
  • Experience with analytics and reporting with strong MS office skills especially Excel
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with sound judgment and professional discretion 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and independent setting
  • Ability to lead projects with multiple stakeholders by defining deliverables, timelines, and communication plans
