Senior Benefits Specialist
We are looking for a Senior Benefits Specialist to support all leave of absence cases and accommodation requests. This is for someone who can effectively coordinate all cases/claims regarding the general administration of the Family and Medical Leave Act and all related employment laws. We are looking for someone who takes pride in offering exemplary customer service and assistance to employees, executives, and HR business partners.
The successful candidate for this role will partner with HR Business Partners and management to address and resolve escalations and to determine reasonable accommodations under the ADA and manage through all leave of absence cases. They are also someone who can deliver detailed analysis and summarization of leave data and trends to the business as requested.
What you'll do:
- Manage all administrative aspects of leave of absence claims with our third party leave administrator regarding: medical, personal, disability and FMLA
- Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.)
- Tracks and calculates hours used/taken and works closely with HRBPs and Payroll to ensure that pay for employees is accurate and correct
- Works closely with employees to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review with third part leave administrator
- Maintains appropriate contact with all employees on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work
- Partners closely with all HR business partners on all leave cases and workers’ compensation claims, meets regularly with HRBPs to review claims’ status, and develops strategies for resolution
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
- Reviews, summarizes, and informs management of trends gathered from the vendor utilization data reports
What you bring:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in LOA administration in a multi-state organization
- Knowledge of leave laws, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Military, personal leaves, ADA administration
- Integrity, professionalism, discretion, ability to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively across and at all levels of the organization
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to shift priorities based on the organizations' needs
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
