The Opportunity:
As the Sr. HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting human resources responsibilities for our technology, product, and business strategy business functions that span across hub locations of Chicago, IL and Toronto, ON, as well a remote employee population. You'll partner with department leaders and the broader People Team to understand organization friction points, strategize solutions, and implement people focused initiatives that support and level up our talent.
How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:
- Provide HR guidance and support for our technology, product, and business strategy departments including management coaching, employee relations, performance management, compensation, leave of absences, and HR policies and programs.
- In partnership with the Director, Talent, identify, strategize, and implement high impact programs with measurable results.
- Influence business leaders on talent decisions to ensure they align to company strategy, culture, and values.
- Be a trusted resource for employees and management on all HR related matters.
- Facilitate and lead talent review cycles including calibration sessions and compensation recommendations.
- Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Support larger HR initiatives including performance management, compensation planning, and employee development.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve issues of employee concern or conflict in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Partner with internal People Team departments on talent development and staffing strategy.
How your role expectations will progress as a Sr. HR Business Partner in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:
30 days in
- Acclimate to Vivid Seats' values and organizational goals to understand how your department drives initiatives forward.
- Understand your role contributions and the needs of your stakeholders that rely on your deliverables to bring business objectives to life.
- Learn stakeholder dynamics, HR practices, policies, and current projects that support your technology, product, and business strategy departments.
- Get to know your business leaders and begin to understand their talent/business priorities.
90 days in
- Develop and lead initiatives for your stakeholders that enhance process, drive innovation, and build on Vivid Seats values.
- Be knowledgeable in Vivid Seats HR practices and policies to support employee and manager needs that arise.
- Identify immediate needs within dedicated business functions, acting swiftly and confidentially to support them.
- Conduct stay interviews with top talent to understand their perspective, aspirations, and needs to recommend retention plans.
180 days in
- Monitor and evolve deliverables, goals, and overall performance to ensure alignment with broader initiatives of the People Team and the organization.
- Identify employee trends, analyze data, and propose areas for improvement, scaling initiatives that apply to the broader organization.
- Act as trusted HR partner for any employees and management needs.
- Lead HR projects and initiatives, acting as a strategic advisor to the teams and leaders you support.
- Partner with, coach, or support People Team members on various talent acquisition, compensation, talent development, or people operations objectives.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in a strategic HRBP position with a deep understanding of employee relations, performance management, and stakeholder influence.
- Passion for people, culture, process improvement, and providing best in class experiences.
- Intrinsically curious with a knack for solving problems of differing degrees of difficulty.
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically, turning ideas into plans that can be implemented and measured.
- Highly organized with strong prioritization ability, great communication skills, and attention to the details.
- Knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources related field or equivalent experience.
