We are adding to our Talent Operations team and looking for a Senior Manager, Compensation and Benefits to join us in our mission. In this new role, you will partner with our Talent leader to provide strategic direction, oversight, design and management of VillageMD’s compensation, benefits, and rewards strategy. As an integral member of our team, the Senior Manager, Compensation and Benefits will have a focus on constant innovation to ensure that our total rewards programs are competitive, sustainable, scalable, and have a positive impact on the short- and long-term performance of the organization. You’ll be trusted to own and drive strategic partnerships with business leaders to educate them on our compensation and benefits programs and ensure they are engaging and retaining employees in alignment with the company’s business goals.

Some examples of work you will own as Senior Manager, Compensation and Benefits at VillageMD:

Compensation:

  • Design, implementation and administration of a compensation program that includes salary, bonus, and variable incentives including day-to-day management of these programs
  • Lead the analysis of market survey data and area differentials, total rewards, recognition, and supplemental pay programs
  • Develop guidelines for compensation increases such as promotion and internal mobility, and annual increases
  • Conduct market pricing activities like job matching, data analytics, compensation practices and trends
  • Leverage advanced understanding of market data methodology and compensation principles preparing results and identifying potential trends
  • Partner with talent and business leaders on job matching and responding to specific compensation related questions, benchmarking, analysis and audits
  • Act as SME and point of contact on market data priorities for the business
  • Consolidate, interpret and present data analysis for talent colleagues and business management on a variety of compensation related topics
  • Manage assessments of new tools to support compensation initiatives
  • Oversee and update all compensation-related communications and materials and ensuring accuracy
  • Partner with Legal team on FLSA reviews for current and new positions

Benefits:

  • Partner with talent leader on the development of the long-term strategy for all company benefit programs to attract and retain a high-performance workforce
  • Collaborate with marketing to design and implement an internal and external benefits communication strategy
  • Ensure all plans and associated activities are compliant with applicable Federal, State and local laws
  • Educate new employees during onboarding on benefit options to help them make appropriate benefit selections
  • Create a comprehensive wellness strategy that incorporates a wide range of tools, resources, and support resources for employees to utilize in order to care for their holistic self
  • Work in conjunction with marketing team to develop innovative benefits literature to assist employees and candidates understand the range options available
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process including managing employee communication plan and education sessions
  • Develop an innovative and engaging benefits education program that extends beyond open enrollment period to provide a best in class experience for all employees
  • Research new strategies for a self-funded organization and network to understand best practices in the industry
  • Ensure all plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions are complete and updated, 5500 Filings are filed accurately and in a timely manner, and oversee annual plan audits
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations including COBRA, ERISA, PPACA, PBGC, FMLA, Disability and HIPAA
  • Monitor industry and external market and provide analysis on the impact of relevant developments in the compensation and benefits areas
  • Communicate and interface with insurance companies and third-party benefit plan administrators to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees

What you bring to VillageMD:

  • 10 or more years of broad-based compensation and benefit program design, implementation, and administration
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation principles and concepts, compensation analysis and consulting, including market pricing, comp plan structure/design, job evaluation and grading
  • Demonstrated experience with self-funded plan design, implementation, and on-going review
  • In-depth knowledge of all health and welfare benefits and associated processes and procedures and working knowledge of federal and/or state regulations affecting the administration of broad-based benefit, retirement, and compensation plans (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.)
  • Experience with vendor and relationship management
  • Excitement and passion for healthcare and being part of a close-knit, entrepreneurial team
  • Extreme flexibility and the desire to be a key contributor to an energetic and passionate talent team
  • A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgement, responsiveness, strong attention to detail and common sense
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support needs across our markets
  • Bachelor’s degree required
