Job Description

Avant is searching for a Senior Manager of Human Resources to lead a fast-paced and multifaceted team. This individual will report to and work closely with the Head of Operations to provide Human Resources leadership that enhances and drives organizational performance. This is a highly visible position that is required to function with a substantial amount of autonomy.
What you do at Avant:
- Proactively consult and advise managers and employees on HR issues and organizational development concerns
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure the organization’s compliance
- Consult with the legal team as needed on personnel matters
- Work directly with department managers to assist in carrying out their responsibilities and personnel matters
- Maintain and administer performance reviews and compensation recommendations
- Recommend, evaluate and participate in staff development for the organization
- Act as a Talent representative and lead Avant’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee
- Become familiar with Avant’s HRIS, UltiPro, in order to provide guidance to Payroll & Benefits department
- Supervise Payroll & Benefits, Recruiting, Employee Relations in Chicago as well as Avant’s Operations Center in Tennessee
- Develop and recommend programs, policies, and procedures
Why you are a fit for Avant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field
- 7-10 years of experience in managing teams with large, diverse employee populations
- Experience working with employees in a Customer Call Center environment
- Experience managing a remote team
- Familiarity with UltiPro
- Proficient in Excel and experience with working with large datasets
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and laws of Human Resources administration
- Ability to work well with executive members and department heads
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
- Ability to maintain confidentiality required of the position
