Description
The Solution Architect HR Technology is a member of the Human Resources (HR) team serving as a trusted IT strategist and the critical liaison with the enterprise Global Information Systems organization. They are responsible for partnering with HR technology owners to drive the development of an IT strategic roadmap for HR focused on advancing contemporary solutions that HR Centers of Excellence (COE), governance group(s), the senior management team, management teams, and staff across the organization use to achieve its vision and strategy.
Job Duties
Working with HR technology owners, develops and manages the implementation of the HR Technology Roadmap. Assesses current state of solutions, defines future state needs, identifies gaps and recommends new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements.
Identifies and manages the interdependencies between major applications/efforts within HR and represent the division in ensuring alignment with enterprise technology requirements and improvement activities.
Provides strategic consultation to HR in defining or designing solutions to enhance the employee experience using customer requirements in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies.
Coordinates and/or participates in the governance activities associated with third party applications and monitors completion of related activities to ensure compliance with enterprise requirements.
Develops high-level concepts and architecture for all non-Workday applications, technologies, or methodologies for all major projects within HR; includes marketing the system solution and its benefits to world-wide stakeholders
Works with HR team members and operations management to develop implementation plans to minimize the operational and cost impact of system or process changes.
Based on recognized expertise, provides project leadership, advice, and counsel to IT personnel, management, customers, and project teams on the most complex aspects of application development, system integration, and development methods.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a relevant degree and 10-15 years of progressively complex IS experience generally gained through staff and supervisory assignments in Information Services and related areas.
Knowledge of computer hardware and interfacing of software as well as the various programming languages used at Caterpillar.
Ability to build an understanding of the Caterpillar organization is required. Good human relation skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
Requires general understanding of basic business operations including the technical infrastructure and general business processes.
