What You'll Bring:

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; MBA or other human resources related Master’s Degree is preferred; CEBS or CBP designation a plus
  • Ten (10) + years of experience in benefits with a focus on innovative, fast growing workforce; preferably gained while working for a global, matrixed organization
  • Five (5)+ years team management experience
  • Proven capability in core benefits program vendor selection and relationship management
  • Strong understanding of interdependencies in program and systems design, legal and tax and financial implications of benefits and wellness
  • Global mobility experience is a plus 
  • Leadership experience in a large, global company
  • Strong coaching and staff development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and motivate other associates
  • Demonstrated profound understanding of specific functional area
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and financial acumen
  • Strong execution, problem-solving and decision making abilities

 

Impact You'll Make:

As a valuable member of the Total Rewards Team, the Senior Director, Benefits and Wellness at TransUnion is primarily responsible for strategy, design, communications, administration and compliance of TU’s benefits and wellness programs, policies and processes.

 

The ideal candidate will ensure the benefits and wellness programs at TU enhance our ability to attract and retain top talent by providing functional expertise to deliver initiatives that support and foster associate engagement. This role is responsible for leading, administering and communicating the company's benefits and wellness programs in regard to plan design, options, policy features, enrollment, execution and other requirements. He or she will conduct market analyses in order to determine company’s competitive position and will oversee planning, developing, and redesigning of these programs as needed. This individual will oversee the budget associated budget for each program and will ensure company compliance with federal and state laws. Under the supervision of the VP, Total Rewards, this individual must be a champion for workplace excellence and putting people first, and a proven successful leader of a team.

  • Designs and develops benefit programs and policies aligned with organizational objectives and goals
  • Ensures compliance of all plans and programs with governmental regulatory agencies
  • Develops, recommends, and manages annual benefit budgets
  • Oversees and builds relationships with third-party benefit providers, auditors, brokers, and administrators
  • Plans, implements, communicates and oversees the administration of various employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision and retirement programs
  • Works with regional HR team to advise and consult on local benefits programs for countries outside the U.S.
  • Leads the Benefits Team with one direct report and three indirect reports
  • Oversees entire leave of absence process including vendor relationship, process improvement, reporting, communication, FMLA and ADA-related aspects
  • Conducts annual market review of benefits, determines recommendations and creates business case for senior leaders
  • Creates operating policies and procedures that are of significant scope and complexity which impact multiple disciplines and departments
  • Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination, and other personnel actions
  • Leads global wellness cross-functional team in terms of program design, communication, monthly themes, vendor relationships
  • Researches and recommends new and innovative wellness programs for a global company with employees in many regions
  • Leads global mobility function for organization including short-term assignments, long-term assignments and relocations
