Narrative Science is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to join the team in Chicago. As the Talent & Finance Associate, you’ll be a go-to person for our employees and have your hand in a variety of work related to our office, our people, and our finance function. You will be a great fit for this role if you thrive in a versatile and fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the Talent tech stack including Jobvite (Applicant Tracking System), Zenefits (HRIS), and Culture Amp (Performance & Engagement)
- Schedule company interviews and own candidate communication
- Post positions in Jobvite and on external sites to ensure postings are current and updated across all channels
- Manage preparation for interviews and post-interview meetings
- Oversee onboarding process for new hires including pre-employment checks
- Schedule and route pre-employment assessment tests (e.g. code challenges) and results
- Create and maintain employee files
Finance Responsibilities
- Manage and prepare bi-weekly payroll
- Handle contract management including a variety of agreements and corporate documents
- Administer the company’s stock option and 401(k) programs
- Review employee expense reports ensuring compliance with the expense reimbursement policy
- Assist the Finance team with accounting projects as they arise
Office Responsibilities
- Plan and execute internal and external events
- Maintain office operations including deliveries, pantry, and conference rooms
- Manage relationships with food, beverage, cleaning and office supply vendors and oversee the ordering process
- Partner with the VP of Talent on projects and practices to ensure employee safety in the midst of COVID-19
- Support a variety of teams in ongoing initiatives as well as the implementation of goals, programs, and policies
- Contribute to the company culture with an outgoing, fun and positive attitude
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Strong professional acumen and work-ethic
- Committed to creating a great candidate & employee experience
- Proficiency with office technologies such as Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), email, internet, Google Apps
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of related experience in HR/Talent and/or Finance
- Previous logistical coordination or scheduling experience
- Knowledge of Applicant Tracking and/or HR systems
