Temporary Payroll Coordinator

The Payroll Coordinator gathers and processes payroll data and will research and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a detailed, thorough and timely manner.
This position will be responsible for providing additional payroll support resources for Home Chef during our busy season.
Ensure all employee and timecard information is accurate for weekly payroll for hourly employees and biweekly payroll for salaried employees
- Research and resolve discrepancies with payroll data.
- Audit payroll data such as incorrect status, rate, or other data and take action to correct
- Calculate and process retro pay.
- Assist with tracking down missing documentation
- Coordinates process and paperwork with HR
Assist employees in a positive and professional manner with their payroll inquiries
- Input approved PTO information into the Time and Attendance system.
- Assist with coordinating payroll corrections.
- Assist employees with updating direct deposit information or tax exemptions
- Process/respond to garnishments accurately and timely
- Follow up with employees regarding their uncashed checks and process reissues.
- Perform other special projects as needed.

- Payroll experience required
- Hard worker and team player who works well with others both within and outside the accounting department
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proactive and well organized
- Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to identify issues, problem solve and follow through to resolution
- Able to work well under pressure and have a strong sense of urgency to make payroll deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Keeps both employee data and company information confidential
- Process improvement experience is a big plus
- Up to one year of post-high school training such as in a business school, community college or vocational training.
