Training Consultant, C&IS Functional Training Department

BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION

Northern Trust Global Fund Services (GFS) supports client, who have multiple fund structures across multiple jurisdictions, with expertise in traditional and alternative vehicle. Servicing investment manager and fund company clients for over 30 years, we have developed expertise in administering the full spectrum of investment strategies from the most straightforward to the most complex. The business provides comprehensive middle office and administration services, including trade processing, asset servicing, valuation and reconciliations, accounting and NAV calculations and investor servicing and reporting. We offer our clients services that will evolve with their changing requirements.

ROLE SUMMARY

As a member of the C&IS Global Functional Training Team, the Fund Accounting Training Consultant will work collaboratively with team members to deliver training solutions to the assigned business unit. Under general direction, the Training Consultant will assist with defining learning solutions that support functional requirements. The Training Consultant role involves; analyzing the learning need, designing, delivering functional training solutions, and evaluating for continuous improvement.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Works with management, performance consultants and / or subject matter experts to understand desired business outcomes and translate them into learning and organization development objectives.

* Works with stakeholders to determine appropriate learning methodologies and organization development solutions.

* Develops project plans including the identification of subject matter expert(s) where appropriate.

* Develops, facilitates and delivers learning and organization development programs.

* Maintains an inventory of training and organization development programs/tools and schedules their use according to management priorities.

* Evaluates training and organization development programs for effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvements.

* Delivers learning solutions that require minimal revision.

* Serves as a key subject matter expert in learning solutions and may mentor more junior staff.

* Represents C&IS Global Learning in various meetings.

AREA SPECIFIC DUTIES

* Coordinate / deliver the mandatory i2i program curriculum within assigned geographic location.

- Liaise with stakeholders and C&IS GL management to outline program requirements

- Continuous evaluation of the i2i program

* Design, develop and maintain a training curriculum for the Fund Accounting + UVRS functions within the Global C&IS curriculums, which can be implemented and delivered regardless of geographic location.

* Coordinate/deliver the new hire curriculum within your geographic location.

* Design and deliver training for existing systems and new system roll-outs.

* Ensures that C&IS Functional learning is aligned with the Business Unit and / or enterprise-wide needs.

* Consult with areas in the business unit to provide ongoing support.

* Work collaboratively with other Global Training Teams.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

For this position, we are looking for an individual that fits one of two profiles:

1. An experienced operations professional willing to develop their consulting, writing and presenting skills.

Requirements include:

* Minimum of three years of operational experience, preferably in FA or in a similar role in Financial services

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to work with all levels of staff

* Self-starter and team player

* Attention to detail

2. An experienced training professional willing to quickly learn all aspects of the FA + UVRS business unit.

Requirements include:

* Minimum of three years of training consulting experience

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to work with all levels of staff

* Self-starter and team player

* Attention to detail
