We are looking for a VP, Total Rewards to join us in our mission. In this new role, you will partner with our Chief Talent Officer to provide strategic design and direction, execution and ongoing management of VillageMD’s total rewards programs. As an integral member of our Talent leadership team, the Vice President, Total Rewards will have a focus on constant innovation to ensure that our benefit and compensation programs remain competitive, sustainable, scalable, and positively impact the short- and long-term performance of the organization. You’ll develop compensation and benefits programs and ensure they are engaging and retaining employees in alignment with the company’s business goals.

Some examples of work you will own as Vice President, Total Rewards at VillageMD:

Benefits:

  • Partner with Chief Talent Officer and broader Executive Team on the development of company benefit strategy, aligning with VillageMD clinical model to manage quality and cost, as well as attract and retain a high-performance workforce
  • Incorporate experience and marketing methodology into benefit implementation and communication strategy, simplifying complex concepts and ensuring team members are aware of the available support and investment on behalf of the enterprise
  • Ensure compliance across all plans with applicable Federal, State and local regulations governing employer sponsored benefits
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process including broker and carrier marketing, plan decisions and managing employee communication
  • Develop an innovative and engaging benefits education program that extends beyond open enrollment period to provide a best in class experience for all employees
  • Research new strategies for a self-funded organization and network to understand best practices in the industry
  • Ensure all plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions are updated, and stored for accessibility, 5500 Filings are filed accurately and in a timely manner, and oversee annual plan audits
  • Monitor industry and external market and provide analysis on the impact of relevant developments in the compensation and benefits areas
  • Communicate and interface with insurance companies and third-party benefit plan administrators to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees

Compensation:

  • Design, implement and administer VillageMD compensation program that includes salary, bonus, and variable incentives including day-to-day management of these programs
  • Lead the analysis of market survey data and area differentials, total rewards, recognition, and supplemental pay programs
  • Conduct market pricing activities like job matching, data analytics, compensation practices and trends
  • Leverage advanced understanding of market data methodology and compensation principles preparing results and identifying potential trends
  • Develop required infrastructure to partner with broader business on compensation analysis and support of role pricing and banding guidelines
  • Manage assessments of new tools to support compensation initiatives
  • Oversee and update all compensation-related communications and materials and ensuring accuracy
  • Partner with Legal team on FLSA reviews for current and new positions

What you bring to VillageMD:

  • 10 or more years of broad-based benefit and compensation program design, implementation, and ongoing administration
  • Demonstrated experience with self-funded plan design, implementation, and on-going review including innovative approaches to managing employer cost while enhancing employee experience, service and quality of care
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation principles and concepts, compensation analysis and consulting, including market pricing, comp plan structure/design, job evaluation and grading
  • In-depth knowledge of all health and welfare benefits and associated processes and procedures and working knowledge of federal and/or state regulations affecting the administration of broad-based benefit, retirement, and compensation plans (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.)
  • Proven strategic orientation balanced by the ability to dig into the details and be a player-coach while building teams and total rewards infrastructure
  • Experience with vendor and relationship management
  • Excitement and passion for healthcare and being part of a close-knit, entrepreneurial team
  • Extreme flexibility and the desire to be a key contributor to an energetic and passionate talent team
  • A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgement, responsiveness, strong attention to detail and common sense
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support needs across our markets
  • Bachelor’s degree required
