Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President of Plant HR and Organizational Development will play a crucial
role in building and maintaining the human capital capabilities and operational strategies the
organization needs to achieve its goals. This HR Leader will be a strategic and pragmatic visionary,
providing leadership, coaching, expertise and guidance to functional HR leadership teams by planning,
developing and implementing Human Resources programs and projects to achieve strategic business
goals and operational objectives via a data-driven and analytical approach.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, coach and colleague to the executive leadership
team. The successful candidate will be a proactive partner and collaborator, stimulating and
supporting senior executives in their ability to effectively recruit, deploy, grow, and lead talent
throughout the organization. Additionally, a key role of this position will be to advise leadership on
organizational development and health initiatives and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
This role will oversee two key People functions with the HR team. Organizational Development and Health focus on maintaining and enhancing the long-term culture of the business. Plant HR focuses on our strategic and tactical management of Home Chef’s > 1,500 employees who work in our production facilities.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Field HR Leadership:
- Closely manage the Plant HR function, ensuring teams are structured appropriately, work duties are being executed appropriately and are aligned with the goals of the business and plants.
- Provide coaching and feedback to Field HR teams and Workforce Planning team to drive superior performance and service to our employees.
- Serve as primary strategic partner to the Plant Operations leadership teams, including COO, VP of Fulfillment and Head of Operational Excellence.
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
- Be the primary point of contact with the executive leadership team on Home Chef’s progress towards achieving it’s DEI goals.
- Ensure initiatives are progressing forward in a timely manner and are being embraced by our employees.
- Serve as a facilitator on Home Chef’s DEI Council.
- Promote diversity, equity and inclusion wherever possible.
- Challenge norms where DEI is not top of mind.
- HR & Operations Strategic Initiatives:
- Support the planning and implementation of effective change management strategies, communications and training in support of major organization change initiative.
- Diagnose root cause of inefficiencies in the HR teams and lead effective programs, process and HR policies to fix.
- Drive effective performance management, compensation and promotion cycles.
- Organizational Health:
- Responsible for the communication of the company’s thematic goals and defining objectives (Home Chef Advantage) and plays a supporting role in helping department leaders communicate goals throughout the organization.
- Lead internal communications efforts to ensure there is appropriate cascading of messages down throughout the organization.
- Support the execution of initiatives identified through the organizational health survey in order to improve the overall culture within Home Chef.
Qualifications:

- 8+ years of experience in progressive People roles
- Prior experience in multi-site, multi-state production facility operations
- Visionary perspective on how businesses can unleash the potential of their employee-base
- Expert at dealing with ambiguity – is able to create structure out of nebulous problems to drive to solutions
- Strong ability to influence executives and other senior leaders as well as more junior and operations leaders
- Excellent written and verbal communication and team management skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Suite.
- Enjoys working in an agile, fast-paced, team environment
