IMC is offering academic funding to exceptional doctoral candidates studying STEM subjects, such as computer science, applied math, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, and engineering.

IMC PhD Fellowship Award Details:
All IMC PhD Fellowship Finalists will receive USD 5,000 in academic support, administered through each Finalists' university, and the opportunity to participate in IMC Research Connect event in April 2026. The first Finalist will also receive an option to participate in a 2027 summer internship at IMC, subject to the successful completion and satisfaction of standard recruitment and onboarding requirements.
Eligibility criteria:
The determination of the IMC Fellow and each Finalist will be at IMC's sole and absolute discretion. PhD Fellowships typically require coordination with your university for payment. If you're selected, we'll partner with you and your program to arrange the award. All awards will be subject to agreement between IMC and the recipient's university, and between IMC and the recipient, regarding the terms of the IMC Fellowship or Finalist award (as applicable). In addition, all award payments and recipients will be reviewed for compliance with relevant US and international laws, regulations, and policies. IMC reserves the right to withhold or cease funding due to a violation of applicable laws, regulations, IMC's policies, or the policies and guidelines of the recipient's university. Recipients must remain enrolled full-time in their PhD program for the duration of the IMC Fellowship or you will forfeit the award.

IMC PhD Fellowship Award Details:
- The IMC Fellow will receive USD 50,000 towards education-related expenses (e.g., tuition, fees, and research). This award will be paid directly to the IMC Fellow's university for distribution.
- The IMC Fellow will also receive an option to participate in a 2027 summer internship at IMC, subject to the successful completion and satisfaction of standard recruitment and onboarding requirements.
- In addition, the IMC Fellow is assigned a dedicated IMC mentor to help them launch a career in quant research for trading.
- IMC will also provide the Fellow with a travel stipend to attend a research conference, such as NeurIPS or ICML. The stipend will cover flights and a hotel for the Fellow, as well as food and taxi expenses (in accordance with IMC's internal travel policies) and fees for conference activities or IMC-sponsored conference events.
