Job Description

About This Job

We’re looking for a dynamic Internal Communications associate to join our team. This individual will be an essential part of our Communications team, helping shape how we inform and engage our employees, with a focus on business strategy and product education.

This newly created role is for someone who will bring a proactive, creative and curious mindset to everything they do. From drafting compelling content to translating complex business strategies and product developments, you’ll be responsible for driving understanding, alignment and engagement across a diverse and global employee base.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a results‑driven team that’s constantly evolving its approach to internal communications. You’ll expand your skillset, contribute to meaningful company moments, and have a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support implementation of strategic communications strategies that align to and support our business goals, product roadmaps and company priorities. This includes finding new and creative ways to communicate complex topics to employees in a clear, engaging and timely way.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser and partner to senior leaders, helping design and implement internal communication strategies, campaigns and initiatives that align to business goals and objectives.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and share a steady stream of content across multiple internal channels, including presentations, intranet articles, customer stories and videos.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring consistent messaging and narrative alignment across departments and channels.
  • Provide support for ongoing change communications, helping engage and guide employees along the company’s ongoing transformation journey.
  • Work with fellow internal communications and multimedia team members to build relationships and create uniform internal messaging across the organization.
  • Inspire a culture of optimism and creative excellence among our communications team and agency partners by demonstrating our Values on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field (additional coursework or certifications in Computer Science, Product Management, or Technical Writing is a significant plus).
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of internal communications experience, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Technology, R&D, or Product-led organizations.
  • Exceptional ability to take complex Product Roadmaps, Engineering milestones, and Data Science concepts and translate them into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical employees.
  • Proven track record of executing internal comms strategies in Agile or high-growth tech environments, with the ability to pivot messaging quickly as product priorities shift.
  • Experience acting as a strategic partner to Chief Product Officers (CPOs), CTOs, and Engineering Leads, providing counsel on how to communicate technical changes, system migrations, or product launches to the broader company.
  • Strong project management skills with familiarity in tech-stack tools; including Google Suite; ability to manage multiple high-priority product workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the "human" element.
  • Demonstrated ability to "connect the dots" between technical innovation and employee purpose—showing how a backend update or a new data set directly drives Nielsen’s business strategy and client success.
